Cricket will make its second appearance in the CWG programme in Birmingham in 2022. The inaugural, in Kuala Lumpur in 1998, was a men’s 50-over competition, but Birmingham 2022 will include a women’s T20I version.
England, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Barbados, and Sri Lanka will compete in the eight-team event at CWG 2022. Because of its ICC WT20I rating, the Indian cricket team is one of five teams who have qualified for the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Based on their FIH rankings, the Indian men’s and women’s hockey teams have already qualified for the Commonwealth Games 2022. The men’s and women’s hockey tournaments will each include ten teams.
The Indian women earned gold at the 2002 CWG hockey tournament, while the men have yet to win a medal, with two silver medals (2010 and 2014) being their best results to date.

Eight players, four men and four women, make up the Indian table tennis squad at Birmingham 2022. Manush Shah and Diya Chitale, two reserve players, will also accompany the team. After a week-long national camp in late May, the team was picked.

India’s 12-member weightlifting team for the Commonwealth Games 2022 was one of the first to be finalised, led by Tokyo Olympics silver medalist and reigning Commonwealth champion Mirabai Chanu.
Jeremy Lalrinnunga, Achinta Sheuli, Ajay Singh, and Purnima Pandey qualified for the Singapore Weightlifting International 2022 by winning gold medals in their respective categories at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships 2021 in December, while the remaining eight qualified at the Singapore Weightlifting International 2022.
Mirabai Chanu was supposed to participate in the 55kg class instead of her favourite 49kg division at the Commonwealth Games 2022, but she had to backtrack owing to late rule changes.
